During the Monday night County Commissioners meeting they a decided on a motion to hold off the purchase of the former Salisbury Mall building that is proposed to be used for county offices. The closing date was supposed to be this week and has now been pushed to the 16th at earliest. The the county needs addional time to do a more comprehensive study of the building to determine the condition of the structure, roof, heating and cooling systems to mention a few.
The purchase is not without controversy. Last week a group of prominent Rowan County citizens sent a letter to the commissioners discouraging the purchase.
