I have listened to Delilah since the ’80 and always thought if I ever owned a radio station I would put Delilah on at night. We’ll I got close but it just doesn’t appear it is going to happen now. There are a number of reasons. I would of had to change our format, removing all the talk shows. Second there were the cost to purchase the equipment to a operate a music format. Third, there is the paperwork issue and the other Charlotte station that has applied for her. Finally we carry too many local ballgames that would preempt her show. There’s just too many issues. I guess for now we will stay with our current format. We are trying to incorporate some music in the morning show and between 6:30pm and the beginning of our ball games.

There were several reports of swift water rescues due to the rapidly rising water near Glen Alpine.
Our Power Doppler Network estimates that anywhere from 4-6 inches fell in central Burke and western Caldwell counties. The Flood Warning in Burke county has now been allowed to expire, but Burke, Caldwell and most of the WBTV viewing area remains under a Flash Flood Watch until tomorrow morning. That watch includes Mecklenburg county and all areas west of I-77.
Drier air slowly begins moving back into the region on Sunday, dropping rain chances into early next week.
