(WBTV) While customers waited in line at the cash register, a man pointed a gun at the cashier and took off with the money, according to police.
The robbery happened before 8:00 pm Thursday night at the Family Dollar at Jake Alexander Boulevard and Highway 150. Investigators say two men worked quickly to rob the store.
While one man waited outside, the second man walked in, went past customers in line, pulled a silver handgun and demanded the cashier to open the register. Once the register was opened the grabbed the money and ran from the store.
A police dog followed a scent behind the store that stopped near the road. Police believe the men had a car waiting on them. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call police at 704-638-5333.
