Harris Teeter fights against hunger during Harvest Feast Campaign

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV)- Harris Teeter, in its 10th year hosting Harvest Feast, which provides assistance its local food bank partners, is once again offering its shoppers the opportunity to get involved.

Thursday, November 1 through Friday, November 30, Harris Teeter customers can donate money or nonperishable food items to their local food bank to help feed America.

Harris Teeter launched Harvest Feast in 2003. Since that time, the company’s shoppers have donated over one million dollars as well as hundreds of thousands of pounds of nonperishable food items to support its local food bank partners.

The company says it owes the success of the Harvest Feast campaign to its loyal shoppers and hopes for continued participation again this year.

Harris Teeter issued a statement about the campaign, saying, “Together, we can end hunger in the community. Every dollar and canned food item donated during the campaign makes a difference in the number of community members Harris Teeter’s food bank partners can help. This includes adults, children and seniors who rely on food banks to supply a network of partner agencies with enough grocery items to assist people in need.”

All money and products donated will stay in the local community in which it was collected; no donation is too big or small.
