SALISBURY – Rowan County didn’t get a lot of snowfall on Thursday night, but the temperatures did drop below freezing, causing icy spots to develop on many streets and roads throughout the county.
The pictures here are from a WBTV viewer in Enochville in southern Rowan. Salisbury Police Chief Rory Collins told WBTV that there had been several reports of cars sliding off Julian Road near the Rowan-Salisbury Schools bus garage.
There were also scattered reports of trees falling down on power lines, snapping the lines and causing transformers to explode.
Schools in Rowan County were closed on Friday
