A Salisbury man who has a former felony conviction for cocaine was arrested in Rowan County on drug charges again, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

James Arthur Smith, 41, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for keeping/selling a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The arrest was made at Smith’s home on S. Fisherman’s Lane in Salisbury just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, the report states.

Deputies told WBTV this is not the first time Smith has been in trouble for drugs in Rowan County. He previously served four to five months, along with 24 months probation, in 2009 for felony possession of cocaine.
