North Rowan High School in Spencer was honored Thursday by a visit by the chairman of the North Carolina State Board of Education. The local high school is one of only 10 schools in the state to have been honored by Governor Perdue for the way it uses technology.
Dr. Bill Harrison toured classrooms at North Rowan along with Superintendent Dr. Judy Grissom specifically to see how students use technology like iPods and Mac Books in their everyday classwork. He called the school “innovative” in its use of technology. Harrison toured several classrooms and watched students working on various projects.
North Rowan High was honored at a reception last month held by Governor Perdue to recognize the school for its creative use of technology in the classroom and was one of ten schools to receive the Digital Learning Award.
