SALISBURY – A cashier working at Rowan Regional Medical Center is in jail, charged with stealing money from the cash register and stuffing it in her clothes.
Police say Jamey Lynese Price, 23, was working for Morrison Food Service in the hospital cafeteria. Over the course of nine months, investigators estimate that Price took more than $6400 from the cash register.
According to the report, Price would ring up a customer’s order, then void out the order and take the cash. The report states that Price is seen on surveillance video stuffing cash into her clothes. Price told police that she did take the money in order for her family to survive.
Price was charged with larceny by a servant/employee and jailed under $7500 bond. Price also faced a charge of failure to appear in court on an outstanding warrant from the Rowan Sheriff’s Office.
