Police: man dies while driving, truck crashes into house on Faith Road

SALISBURY – A man died behind the wheel of his pick up truck Wednesday morning and the truck ended up crashing into a house on Faith Road, according to police.

Andrew Thomas Head, Jr., 62, has now been identified by Salisbury Police as the victim. He lived in Granite Quarry.

The accident happened around 8:00 am. Police and witnesses told WBTV that Head lost consciousness while driving on Old 80.

“This man had a heart attack and his wife took control of the truck and steered it through and it ended up in moms front yard,” said Tony Sale, whose mother lives in the house that was struck. “Mom’s doing fine. She was in the bed asleep when all this happened, she’s doing fine though, doing good.”

Head’s wife, Linda, grabbed the wheel but was unable to stop the truck. The truck crossed Faith Road and crashed into the front porch of a home on the corner of Faith Road and Moyle Avenue. Linda Head was treated at the scene for a minor injury.
