The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center’s rural health team will conduct a 4-week healthy living skills class in Monroe every Thursday.

The classes will be held at the VSO Building, located at 500 N. Main Street, starting January 24.

They will take place from 10 a.m. until noon.

Veterans and their families are invited to attend this 4-week class to learn about CPR, diabetic self-management, 9-healthy living messages and about other available VA services.

All former and current military members and their immediate family members are encouraged to attend this free class. VA staff will also provide health care registration, education and information services to all non-registered veterans, and assistance in completing enrollment applications, requesting copies of DD Form 214, and initiating MyHealtheVet online services.

Former military members who are not currently enrolled for VA health care benefits will need to bring a copy of their DD Form 214 to attach to their application for VA health care benefits. Veterans who cannot locate their DD Form 214 may request a copy from http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/.
