SALISBURY – Salisbury Police say they know who jumped the fence at the burned out location of historic Grimes Mill and tried to make off with copper and metal.

Warrants have issued for Cedric McKinley Thompson, 19, of Lafayette Street in Salisbury.  Police say witnesses told them they saw Thompson go onto the mill property during the early morning hours of Tuesday.

When police responded, they say Thompson was able to get away.

Thompson will be charged with first degree trespassing and attempted misdemeanor larceny
