On the area scene, Catawba’s men’s basketball team posted an 83-62 win over Lees McRae at Goodman Gym Wednesday night.  Tyrece Little had 17 points and 12 rebounds, going 7-11 from the field and had three blocked shots.  Catawba improved to 2-1 on the season, and will host the Salisbury Roundball Classic this Friday and Saturday.  Friday night, Catawba takes on Paine at 8:00PM, following St. Augustine’s vs. Chowan at 6:00PM.  Saturday afternoon, St. Augsutine’s plays Paine at 2:00PM, and it’s followed by Catwba vs. Chowan at 4:00PM.  Livingstone plays Felician Friday at Johnson C. Smith, while the Lady Bears host their Blue Bear Classic beginning Friday.

Thursday Sixth Ranked NC State is playing Penn State in Puerto Rico as part of the Puerto Rico Tip-off at  5:00PM Eastern time.  UNC next plays Friday at Long Beach State at 10:00PM on their way out for the Maui Invitational which follows next week (Monday)
