In College Basketball, #6 Ranked NC State won its opening round game in the Puerto Rico Tipoff over Penn State 72-55.  T.J. Warren scored 22 points and had eight rebounds, with C.J. Leslie added fourteen points.  State plays Massachusetts in a second round game on Friday.  North Carolina plays Friday night at Long Beach State, starting tipoff at 11:00PM, 10:00PM airtime on Newsradio 1490.  Other games of note on Friday:  Wake Forest at Connecticut (6:30PM)

Catawba hosts its own Salisbury Classic..Friday at 6:00PM St. Augustines vs. Chowan   8:00PM  Catawba vs. Paine, Ga…On Saturday the teams shift opponents with St. Augustine’s taking on Paine at 2:00PM and Catawba vs. Chowan at 4:00PM.  Livingstone is hosting a women’s tournament at Trent Gym, playing Barber Scotia at 8:00PM Friday and the Livingstone men are at Johnson C. Smith to take on Felician in a tournament there.
