College Basketball

In College Basketball action Thursday night, Livingstone opened its CIAA Conference season on the road with a win at Bowie State for the men 85-72.  Down by four at halftime, the Blue Bears rallied by shooting 56 percent in the second half, including 5-8 in three pointers.  Jody Hill had five three pointers and topped the scoring with 26 points.  Mark Thomas added seventeen poitns and Omar Ford-Bey had fifteen.  The Bears improved to 9-1 overall.  The Livingstone women lost to Bowie State 76-61.  Ashley Walker had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lady Bears, who dropped to 4-6 with the loss.  Livingstone continues their road trip in the CIAA with games at Virignia Union Saturday and Lincoln on Monday. 

Sunday North Carolina opens ACC play at Virginia in Charlottesville.  You can Tipoff will be approximately 8:00PM and Play by Play coverage with the Tarheel Sports Network can be heard on Newsradio 1490, following the Redskins Playoff game with Seattle.
