College Basketball

By Howard Platt on January 28, 2013

The Miami Hurricanes showed their dominance in the ACC again, as they scored another blowout against in-state rival Florida State 71-47.  Miami improved their leading ACC record to 6-0, 15-3 overall, enhancing their lead in the conference and seem assured of moving up in the national rankings after the one sided win.  Florida State dropped to 3-3 in the conference, 11-8 overall.  Also in the ACC, Clemson defeated Virginia Tech 77-70 at Littlejohn Colliseum.  Milton Jennings led the Tigers with a career high 28 points and 14 rebounds, along with four blocked shots.  Clemson improved to 11-8 overall, 3-4 in the ACC.  Virginia Tech is 11-8 and 3-3.

Also in the Southern Conference, UNC-Greensboro defeated Chattanooga 77-69.  In National games, Michigan defeated Big Ten Foe, Illinois, 74-60, and is expected to take over the Number One ranking when the polls come out later Monday.  Other Sunday results included:  Indiana 75 Michigan State 70, and Creighton easily defeated Southern Illinois 81-51.

Next Broadcast game will have North Carolina at Boston College Tuesday night, with tipoff at 9:00PM.  Our coverage will start right after the East Davidson at Salisbury High School game.
