North Carolina State has lost two more starters from this past season’s Basketball team. C. J. Leslie has announced he is making himself eligible for the NBA draft. Leslie, a 6’9″ Forward, was the preseason ACC Player of the Year, but by many standards did not have the kind of year that had been expected of him. He averaged a team-high 15.7 points a game and 7.4 Rebounds, but only made the third team All ACC. Inconsistent play on the court was noted by many NC State fans. His Coach, Mark Gottfried, feels he will be taken in the first round of the draft. The Wolfpack will also be losing Freshman Guard, Rodney Purvis, who said Monday he plans to transfer. The hometown guard, who played at Raleigh Upper Room, said he just wants to change his environment. He was one of three McDonalds High School All-Americans to join the Wolfpack this season, averaging 8.3 points and started 23 of 25 games, though his minutes fell off with Forward T. J. Warren getting more playing time as the season went on.
