College Basketball Update

Wednesday night scores included:  (Men) Livingstone 63 St. Augustine’s 59 (Mark Thomas led the Blue Bears with 18 points and six assists.  Jody Hill added 16 points and clutch free throw conversions was the key to the Bears win. Livingstone improved to 19-5 overall, 11-4 in the CIAA.  In the Women’s game Livingstone won handily 84-64, with Jasmine Murray scoring 17 points and had eight rebounds and Tyesha Tharpe had 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Catawba swept past SAC foe Mars Hill on the road, winning the Men’s game 88-87.  Tyrece Little had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Indians, who are now 8-15 overall, 5-10 in the SAC.  Mars Hill is 3-20, 0-15 in the SAC.  Catawba hosts Newberry Saturday while Livingstone.  The Catawba Women won 78-44, with Taylor May leading the way with 17 points. 

Other Carolinas Results:  SAC..(Men) Lincoln Memorial 69 Carson Newman 64, Anderson 76 Wingate 73, Lenoir Rhyne 80 Tusculum 68, Newberry 75 Brevard 56.  CIAA: Shaw 74 Fayetteville State 65, Lincoln 61 Chowan 53, Elizabeth City State 62 Virginia Union 61, Bowie State 74 Virginia State 69, and Winston Salem State 78 J.C. Smith 69.  Southern Conference:  Davidson 73 Furman 36, Charleston 67 Western Carolina 65, and The Citadel 80 Appalachian State 77 (OT)…Also East Carolina 72 Tulsa 63

Thursday night Duke plays at Virginia Tech at 9:00PM..The game will have broadcast coverage  starting at 8:00PM with Bob Harris and the Duke network.
