High School Basketball

A heavy dose of High School Basketball Friday night in Rowan County with five games involving local schools.  Mooresville visits West Rowan and Newsradio 1490 and 1490wstp.com will have broadcast coverage of the boys end of the doubleheader starting at around 7:30PM..The Girls game between the two schools starts things off at 6:30PM.  The Falcon girls are 4-0 this year, while the West Boys are 0-4.  Other doubleheader matchups include:  North Moore at North Rowan (YVC game), South Rowan at Central Davidson, and Alexander Central at Davie County, all starting at 6:00PM…Carson hosts Hickory Ridge, beginning at 6:30PM

In Thursday action, East Rowan, playing for a third consecutive night, split their doubleheader with Northwest Cabarrus..The Boys appeared drained in an 80-38 loss at Northwest, and the girls won their third straight, 67-47 over their Northwest counterparts.  Karleigh Wike nearly had her second straight triple-double with 19 points, and jsut two blocks short of having double figures.  East improved to 3-2 in girls play, while the boys dropped to 1-4. 

Saturday night, North Rowan and Salisbury have their first roundball meeting at Catawba Colleges’ Goodman Gym..Girls are due to start at 6:00PM and Boys following at around 7:30PM
