Weather permitting, it’s back on the court Friday for area High School Basketball teams.  Newsradio 1490 will be featuring the Girls end of the Doubleheader between West Rowan and Carson at the Carson Gym, with our coverage beginning at around 6:15PM before the scheduled 6:30PM tipoff.  The game is between two of the teams battling for the top spots in the North Piedmont Conference and their first meeting of the season.  West Rowan is 14-0 and ranked Number One in the Carolina Preps.com state poll.  They are 3-0 in the NPC.  Carson is 4-0 in the NPC, and 13-3 overall.  Play by Play coverage of this game will be provided also on 1490wstp.com via streaming.  Howard Platt will provide the play by play.  The Girls game will be followed by the Boys game at around 8:00Pm

Other games on the schedule Friday include:  Albemarle at North Rowan, Salisbury at Lexington, and East Rowan at Statesville.  South Rowan has the night off.  Davie County visits RJ Reynolds in the Central Piedmont Conference.  The North Rowan and Salisbury doubleheaders are due to start with the Girls games at 6:00PM.  The NPC games are part of quadruple headers (JV also) with varsity girls tipping off at 6:30PM..If schools are postponed due to snow or ice, the games could also be postponed to later dates.
