Due to Rowan/Salsibury schools not operating for students Friday, by policy of the schools, no athletic events are allowed to be played with school out.  Hence the entire sports schedule for Friday January 18th was postponed.  That included High School Basketball varsity doubleheaders:  West Rowan at Carson (Makeup date Wednesday January 30)  East Rowan at Statesville (Makeup is also Wednesday January 30)  Albemarle at North Rowan (Makeup is Thursday January 31) and Salisbury at Lexington (No Makeup date available yet)  Also postponed was the Rowan County Swim Meet that was schedule at the Hurley YMCA Friday afternoon.. No Makeup available or scheduled yet.

With the schedule game between Carson and West Rowan girls that was to be broadcast postponed, Newsradio 1490 will have full coverage of the NBA Charlotte Bobcats game at Orlando Friday night starting at 7:00PM.
