High School Football Playoffs Resume Friday

By Howard Platt on November 15, 2012

Two Rowan County Football teams remain alive in the State North Carolina Playoffs that go into the third round this Friday.  East Rowan travels to face Concord, while Salisbury also goes on the road to take on High Point Andrews.  East takes on a Concord team that is 11-2 on the season, and thrashed West Rowan 55-30 last week.  East dismantle Rockingham County 29-12 at Mustang Stadium last week.  Winner of this game will be matched up with the winner of the Lawndale Burns-Morganton game next week in the 3A Western Finals.  Salsibury beat conference rival Central Davidson a week ago 42-14, while Andrews handled West Stokes 31-0.  The Salisbury-Andrews winner will be matched up with the winner of the South Iredell-Bandys game for the Western 2AA finals next week.

Other Playoff games include A.L.Brown at Charlotte Catholic in 3AA and North Davidson hosting Mt. Tabor in the 4A.  All games are 7:30PM kickoffs and Newsradio 1490 will have coverage beginning of the East Rowan at Concord game starting at 6:35Pm and can be heard as well on our streaming internet source of 1490wstp.com.  Howard Platt and Wilson Cherry will be bringing you the play by play and Commentary and will be keeping up with the scores of the other games of interest.
