In High School Baseball, South Rowan defeated Salisbury 7-2 at the Hornets Robertson Stadium on a frigid Thursday night.  Jonnie Lefebvre and Blake Sechler combined on the mound for the win, the 13th straight for South over Salisbury, dating back to the year 2000.  South had five unearned runs in the game., as they upped their record to 6-3, while Salisbury dropped to 3-5.  Also Thursday North Rowan won over Lexington 19-3.  Noah Gonzalez drove in three runs and scored two, and Chance Mazza had two doubles, scored three runs , and drove in three, who raised their record to 3-5.

Friday’s schedule has West Davidson at Salisbury (4:30 PM), and 7:00 PM starts for: West Rowan at Carson (First Place on the line in the NPC.). West Montgomery at North Rowan, East Rowan at Statesville, and Davie County at Mount Tabor.

Catawba opens a SAC weekend series at Carson Newman Friday at 2: 00 PM, with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday.  Catawba is tied for first place in the South Atlantic Conference entering this weekend’s competition.
