Bobcats thumped in Playoff Series Opener at Miami

The Charlotte Bobcats lost their opening playoff game to the Defending Champions, the Miami Heat 99-88 at the Miami arena.  Labron James topped the Heat with 27 , and Duane Wade added 23.  The Heat had two big runs-one late in the first half and the other down the stretch.  Charlotte was led by Kemba Walker’s 20 points.  Al Jefferson had 18 points and ten rebounds but suffered an injury to his ankle in the first quarter, then came back out to play, but was clearly not as effective after the injury.  He is hopeful of being able to play in Game two on Wednesday.  The series continues at Miami Wednesday night at 7:00PM and will have play by play coverage on Newsradio 1490. 

Other NBA Sunday results:  San Antonio beat Dallas 90-85, coming back in the final five and a half minutes, Portland edged the Rockets at Houston 122-120 in overtime, Washington broke through at Chicago 102-93.  Monday night games include Memphis at Oklahoma City with the Thunder up one game to none (8:00PM) and the LA Clippers host Golden State at 10:30PM in their Game Two and the Warriors are up One game to none.
