Number Three Duke celebrated their Senior night at Cameron Indoor Stadium with a win over Virginia Tech 85-57. It was a close game for a half, with Duke only leading 38-35, but the Blue Devils pulled away in the second half that included at 15-0 run. Seth Curry scored 20 with five three pointers, Ryan Kelly added 18 points and nine rebounds, and Mason Plumlee had 14. Erick Green led Virginia Tech with 25 points. Duke improved to 26-4, 13-4 in the ACC, while Virginia Tech dropped to 13-17 and 4-13 in the ACC. Also in the ACC, Boston College won at Clemson 68-61. Freshman Olivier Hanlan scored 24 points and Ryan Anderson added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Boston College upped its record to 14-16 overall, 6-11 in the conference, with Clemson dropped to 13-16, 5-12 in the ACC.
Wednesday night North Carolina visits Maryland. The game will be broadcast on Newsradio 1490 starting with pregame at 6:00PM and tipoff at 7:00PM. Also in the ACC Wednesday, Wake Forest is at NC State (9:00PM), and Georgia Tech at Miami. Also Wednesday night, Catawba opens play in the SAC Tournament. The Catawba Women start at home against Tusculum at 7:00PM. The Catawba Men start on the road at Anderson at 8:00PM. After first round games Wednesday, winners of those games advance to Greenville, South Carolina for the Semifinals on Saturday, with the Championship games to be played SUnday at 1:30Pm and 4:30PM.
A national note from Tuesday, #2 ranked Indiana was beaten on its home floor by Big Ten foe Ohio State 67-58. The Buckeyes were ranked fourteenth.
