More Baseball

The Kannapolis Intimidators lost to Lexington in their first extra inning game of the year, 2-1 in 11 innings.  Adrian Morales had a walkoff homer for the Legends.  Kannapolis starter, Jake Cose, was sharp for seven innings and struck out nine.  Micah Johnson stole three bases and leads the minors with 35.  The Intimidators are at Lexington again Tuesday night at 7:05 PM.  They return home to Kannapolis at CMC Northeast Stadium Thursday night to begin a homestand against the Savannah Sand Nats.

North Carolina, still ranked number one in the Nation’s Baseball poll, hosts Appalachian State Tuesday night at Chapel Hill.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM.  Carolina is 45-6 overall, and leads the ACC’s Coastal Division with a 20-5 conference record.  Appalachian State features former East Rowan and Rowan Legion star, Noah Holmes, who was just named Southern Conference player of the week for last week’s exploits.
