November marks National Writing Month

SALISBURY – From Rowan Public Library: November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and Rowan Public Library is inviting aspiring authors to start writing your first novel this November!

To kick things off, we are hosting a free Creative Writing Workshop by author Nathan Kotecki geared towards grades 7-12, but all are welcome. The workshop will take place on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 pm in the Stanback Auditorium of RPL Headquarters (Salisbury).

Kotecki, author of The Suburban Strange, will share tips on how to bring characters, settings, and plots to life. Kotecki’s second novel Pull Down the Night was released earlier this month, and “readers may find it hard waiting for the next installment to The Suburban Strange series” (VOYA).

For more information about the workshop, visit www.rowanpubliclibrary.org or call 704-216-8234. To learn more about NaNoWriMo, visit www.nanowrimo.org or www.ywp.nanowrimo.org for young writers.
