SALISBURY – The Rowan-Salisbury School System is inviting the public to provide input on three (3) proposed sites for the district’s Consolidated Administrative Central Office location.
In an email to WBTV, RSS says that it wants input from citizens on the preferred location.
The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education discussed 11 different potential sites for the consolidated central office at their regular meeting on Monday, October 28th.
The school board made the decision to focus on three locations and then asked Architect Bill Burgin, with Ramsay Burgin Smith Architects, Inc., to further review each of the chosen sites for a more detailed analysis. Mr. Burgin presented sketches of all 11 sites at the meeting, explaining the pros and cons for each.
The three sites selected by the school board for consideration are:
1 – Downtown Salisbury Site located at 329 South Main Street
2 – Former DSS Building Site located on West Innes & Old West Innes Streets (the old building would be demolished and a new structure built)
3 – Summit Corporate Center located on Interstate 85 & Julian Road
The survey will be made available for public input through November 8, 2013.
On the survey, citizens are required to provide their name, address, site choice and comments. The Board of Education will review all submitted surveys.
The survey may be accessed on the Rowan-Salisbury School System’s website at: http://www.rss.k12.nc.us
