Youth is Served at the Labor Day Four Ball Golf Tournament

The youngest winners ever for the Goode-Crowder Labor Day Golf Tournament were crowned with a dominating performance at the Country Club of Salisbury Monday afternoon.  High Schoolers Davis Richards of South Rowan and Jake Kennedy of West Rowan completed a one sided 7 and 6 win in the finals over Corey Basinger and Steven Harvey.  The youthful twosome won the first six holes and shot six under par for 12 holes and were never challenged.  Richards and Kennedy had won the morning semifinal one up over Charlie Graeber and Bill Haynes.  Basinger and Harvey won their morning semifinal over Derek Paschal and Jon Allen 2 & 1.  Kennedy is 17 and Richards 16, and they also became the first High School team to win the Tournament.

Other flight winners included:  Michael and Keith Dorsett winning the first flight 3 & 2 over Phil and David Miller.  Grace Yatawara and Alliston Dupree Adams defended their Women’s title with a 4 & 3 win over Phyllis Durland and Kristi Laton.  Mallory McDaniel and John DeRhodes won the Senior Championship , Terry Mulkey and Bill Kesleer won in 19 holes in the Seniors First Flight, and Grey Meddinger-Russ Priddy won the Super Senior Championship.
